To install all the necessary software to use Finch Shift controllers with VIVE Focus, download Plugin Setup application.

Once the installation is complete and your VIVE Focus powers up, you'll be prompted to start tutorial. It will start automatically once you power up the HMD and/or choose the FinchShift as your primary controllers. Follow the on-screen instructions.
To launch the tutorial again select FinchShift Tutorial Module from the VIVE Focus app library.
To change the plugin from VIVE Focus 3DoF controller to FinchShift controller you'll have to power off your HMD and your FinchShift controllers first. Then power on your HMD and wait till the "Aim forward and long press Home button" menu appears, then press the Volume button (1). "Select the type of controller" menu will appear, choose (2) FinchShift. Done.
The FinchShift controller is the default controller now. Every time you change the controller plugin, you have to connect FinchShift controllers to your HMD again.
You'll need 6 ААА batteries to power the controller set. Put the batteries in as shown on the video.
To power on the controllers, press and hold the Home button until two LEDs on the end of the handle start to blink.
To power on the armbands, press and hold the Power button until the LED above the button starts to blink.
You have to pair controllers to the HMD manually on first launch. Connect them sequentially in no particular order. On the second and subsequent launches the controllers will connect to the HMD automatically.
To connect the controllers to the HMD, press and hold Home button until the controller vibrates and the two LEDs on the end of the handle light up.
To connect the armbands to the HMD, press and hold Power button until the LED above the button lights up.
To start using the controllers you have to put on the armbands first. Make sure to put the armbands on the upper arm and not on the forearm. For the best experience it should be positioned in the middle of the upper arm, facing outwards, LED pointing up, like shown on the video.
On each side of the controller there is a capacity sensor that determines whether it is held in a right or left hand. Make sure to put you index finger on the trigger for the sensors to detect your hand properly while you calibrate, like shown on the video.
Calibration is necessary for the controller to work properly. You will be promted to recalibrate every time the VIVE Focus boots or resumes from sleep. Recalibration is also required if the armband is repositioned on your hand or FinchShift movements in the virtual world do not match your hands' movements. To force recalibrate hold Home buttons on both controllers at once.
First step of the calibration is identifying the RIGHT shoulder. To do this press the Power button on the right armband.
If the headset cannot prepare the sensors for the calibration, you will be prompted to put your hands down. Follow the on-screen instructions. This step will be skipped automatically once your hands are pointing down.
FinchShift controllers should be handheld during the calibration (put the index finger on the trigger). Grey colored hand means that whether the controller is in a right or left hand is not yet determined. Blue colored hand means that the hand is successfully detected. Red colored hand means that the hand cannot be detected and you should change the way you hold the controller. This step is shown only if the system couldn't detect your hands well.
You'll see on-screen outlines during the calibration. The calibration requires the hands to be positioned in a certain way in space. To do that extend your arms in front of you. Keep your elbows straight. Put the controllers close to each other. Press and hold both Touchpads at once.

To change the plugin from FinchShift controller to VIVE Focus 3DoF controller you'll have to power off your FinchShift controllers first. Then power on your HMD and wait till the "searching for FinchShift controllers" menu appears, then press the Volume button (1). "Select the type of controller" menu will appear, choose (2) VIVE Focus 3DoF controller. Done.
The VIVE Focus 3DoF controller is the default controller now.
There are 4 types of LED indication on FinchShift controllers:
- Blinking White - the controller is ready for connection
- Solid white - the controller is connected
- Amber - low battery level
- Red - firmware update

Every time VIVE Focus boots, it checks whether there is a more recent version of the FinchShift firmware available. If that's the case, it will automatically start the update process. Please don't turn the HMD off during the update. After every firmware update you have to connect FinchShift controllers to your HMD again.
If the controllers were updated successfully, there will be a "Succsesfull update" pop-up. You have to connect FinchShift controllers to your HMD again after that.
During the update there will be an on-screen update progress bar, and the FinchShift and FinchTracker LEDs will lit red in process.
The update will be paused if the HMD's or any controller's charge is lower than 30%. In that case you'll be prompted to replace the batteries to update the controllers.
If the update was interrupted, reboot your VIVE Focus and reinsert the Finch controllers' and armbands' batteries.
There is no «Allow USB debugging» pop-up after i connect the HMD to my computer. What should i do?
Make sure USB debugging is on (Settings -> More Settings -> Developer options -> USB debugging -> turn ON).
If the USB debugging is ON, but the pop-up does not appear, you should install the android USB debug bridge drivers:

I pressed the Install button in the FinchInstaller, but nothing happened. What should i do?
Close the PC apps that might be using ADB, for example Android Studio, Vysor, Perfomance profilers, relaunch the FinchShiftInstaller and try again.
How do i know if there is a more recent version of the software available?
You will recieve an email on every update of the FinchShiftInstaller and the FinchShiftPlugin on the email address that you provided when you placed your order.
My HMD continuously reboots during the FinchShiftTutorial. What should i do?
The HMD can reboot a couple of times before it shuts down due to low charge. Please make sure your HMD is charged 100% and then try again.
